I hand build cedar strip canoes for the fun of it. This is a 12' "Wee Lassie" style.  Light (37 lbs.) but sturdy and easy to paddle.  I use this for fishing small streams.

This is a larger (15') flat bottomed canoe for use on larger bodies of water.  This one wound up in Ohio.

This canoe follows the same flat bottomed - laker shape as the one above, but I made it only 13 feet long.  It's still very stable in the water, and weighs about 53 pounds.  The paddle is an 8 foot double paddle.  It makes paddleing very easy.
